Congressional Veteran Commendation
Colleyville, TX – The City of Colleyville is proud to announce that three Colleyville citizens have received a Congressional Veteran Commendation from Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne.
This special designation honors the distinguished veterans of the 24th Congressional District of Texas to preserve their stories for future generations of Americans. Veterans who are nominated must be currently residing in the 24th District of Texas and have served our nation with honor consistent with the finest traditions of military service. The nominated veterans must also have served their community.
This year’s recipients include three Colleyville citizens: First Sergeant Robert Hazlewood, United States Marine Corps (Ret.); Sergeant Eric Newton, United States Army (Ret.); and Captain James Palmersheim, United States Army (Ret.). In addition, three Colleyville Vietnam veterans were recognized with Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins through a partnership with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. Those recipients include Sergeant John Bullard, United States Army (Ret.); Sergeant Alan Clements, United States Army (Ret.); and Staff Sergeant John Plowman, United States Air Force (Ret.).
The awards were presented during a Veterans Recognition Ceremony hosted by Congresswoman Van Duyne, with Mayor Bobby Lindamood attending in support of the honorees. The City of Colleyville extends its appreciation to Congresswoman Van Duyne for her continued efforts to honor area veterans and her dedication to preserving their legacy of service.
Colleyville is proud to be home to many veterans who remain active in the community, continuing to lead and serve in countless ways. Their commitment to service, both in and out of uniform, continues to strengthen the fabric of Colleyville and inspire future generations.
