January 12, 2026 CISD Special Board Workshop Meeting RecapThe CISD Board of Trustees met Monday, January 12, to recognize outstanding Dragon educators, review key reports, and take action on important District items.
Recognitions:• January Elementary Inspire Excellence Teacher of the Month: Lisa Flemington (Rockenbaugh ES)
• January Upper Grades Inspire Excellence Teacher of the Month: Amanda Caruth (Dawson MS)
• January Inspire Excellence Employee of the Month: Teresa Perez (Rockenbaugh ES)
President’s Report:• President Cam Bryan shared an update on the head football coach search, with interviews beginning next week
• He emphasized a thoughtful, transparent process with a goal of March 1 – without rushing the decision, as well as confirmed plans to separate the athletic director and head football coach roles
Public Hearing: Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)• Carroll ISD maintained an “A” rating at every campus and districtwide
• Earned post-secondary readiness distinctions across the district
Information & Action Items:• Presentation on the work of the CISD Communications Department
• The Board voted unanimously to approve the BRAC Tiger Team II recommendation for consolidation beginning in 2027–28, with planning committees to guide the transition
