
National Police Week – Sunday, May 10 – Saturday, May 16, 2026
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed into law designating May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which May 15th falls as National Police Week. National Police Week is a time to Respect, Honor, & Remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving and protecting their communities.
The law was amended in 1994, and signed by President Clinton, directing that the flag of the United States be displayed at half-staff on all government buildings on May 15th each year.
