Texans Can Academies – Fort Worth Welcomes Tuff Hedeman
To Their Annual Care for Kids Golf Classic
Fort Worth, TX – April 2019 – Texans Can Academies – Fort Worth is hosting their annual Care for Kids Golf Classic on April 22, 2019 and welcoming Tuff Hedeman as a tournament participant.
Richard Neal “Tuff” Hedeman is an American retired four-time World Champion bull rider from Morgan Mill, Texas. He earned three PRCA titles in 1986, 1989 and 1991, and the 1995 PBR World Champion. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1997 while still competing and awarded the PBR Ring of Honor in 1999. Tuff is also the founder of the nationwide Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour and TuffRideTV.com.
Tuff is recognized within the industry as an avid supporter of the bull riding sport and its professional athletes. For three decades Tuff has been a part of providing opportunities for bull riders and the result is evident. Tuff is now generously dedicating his time through participation in the Care for Kids Golf Classic to help support students at Texans Can Academies – Fort Worth.
All net-proceeds from the Care for Kids Golf Classic benefit students at the two Fort Worth Can Academies; Texans Can Academy – Fort Worth Lancaster Avenue and Texans Can Academy – Fort Worth Westcreek. A portion of the proceeds are dedicated to support the Science Technology Engineering Art Math (STEAM) programs at both campuses.
Texans Can Academies are free, open-enrollment dropout recovery schools that graduate thinkers and offer students, aged 14 to 21, who have struggled in a traditional high school setting a second chance at earning their high school diploma instead of a General Education Development (GED). Texans Can Academies are a unique network of 14 charter schools located in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.
The tournament takes place at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth and serves as one of the premier golf tournaments in the area. Check-in is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; lunch is served at 11:00 a.m.; the shotgun start is at 12:00 p.m.; and dinner and prize announcements will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The cost to participate in the tournament is $300 per player and $1,000 per foursome.
