The Bunny Photo Experience begins March 29 and runs through April 21 at Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall. Kids will have the chance to visit with the Bunny and take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion. Firewheel Town Center’s Bunny Photo Experience will be located in between Old Navy and Buckle, and North East Mall’s Bunny Photo Experience will be in Center Court. Daily hours vary and can be seen at www.FirewheelTownCenter.com or www.ShopNorthEastMall.com.
“We love to hold family-friendly events and we always look forward to watching children interact with the Bunny at Easter,” said Chelsey Lamar, Area Director of Marketing.
Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall also provide opportunities for people with all spectrums of special needs and their families to enjoy this time-honored holiday tradition through a sensory-friendly Caring Bunny event in association with Autism Speaks. Caring Bunny will occur at Firewheel Town Center on Sunday, March 31 from 9-11 a.m. and at North East Mall on Sunday, April 7 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Guests can register in advance at simon.com/caringbunny. Each property’s Bunny Photo Experience will also share the heart of the Easter Bunny by collecting donations for Autism Speaks throughout the season.
At each center’s Caring Bunny event, many steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for children’s cherished visit with the Bunny. The subdued environment is likely to include (specific elements or aesthetics may vary):
- Turning off in-mall music, stopping escalators located near the photo set, dimming the lights and shutting down fountains for the duration of the event.
- Eliminating queue lines through the use of a numbering system whereby guests approach the set when their number is called.
- Special activities geared toward the needs of guests during the ‘wait’ period.
The popular Pet Photo Night returns to the Easter Bunny Photo Experience at Firewheel Town Center and North East Mall this year. Many pet owners view their pet as an integral member of the family and are just as committed in caring for their pets as their human family members. Pet Photo nights are hosted after regular mall closing and the set gets an extensive cleaning following the event to remove any potential risk to allergy sufferers. Pet Photo Night will be on Sunday, April 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Firewheel Town Center and Sunday, April 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. at North East Mall.
Families are invited to enjoy Breakfast with the Bunny on Saturday, April 5 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at TGI Fridays – Firewheel Town Center. TGI Fridays will be serving scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh mixed fruit, and tasty toast, alongside coffee, juice, milk, and soda. Space is limited so reserve your tickets today! Each $15 ticket includes admission to the event, breakfast provided by TGI Fridays, a Firewheel Easter Swag Bag, event-exclusive photo coupon, retailer offerings, and a special present for kids from the Easter Bunny, which he will deliver as he hops around to each table. Guests are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 8:45 a.m. and no later than 9:25 a.m. to get checked in and seated.
Hop into spring at Firewheel Town Center’s fourth annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m in the Park. Come have fun with 92.1 Hank FM’s Party Patrol, bounce houses, balloon arts, face painters, arts and crafts and more! The Easter Bunny will kick off the annual Firewheel Town Center Easter Egg Hunt for children 5 and under at 1:30 p.m., followed by children ages 6 to 11 at 1:45 p.m., and children ages 12 and up at 2 p.m.!

About Autism
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. We now know that there is not one autism but many subtypes, and each person with autism can have unique strengths and challenges. A combination of genetic and environmental factors influence the development of autism, and autism often is accompanied by medical issues such as GI disorders, seizures and sleep disturbances. Autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children.
About Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
