LNO has learned that State Dist. 98 Texas House Representative Giovanni Capriglione has today had a complaint filed with the Texas Ethics Commission over his illegal use of State of Texas Official Stationary to announce a “Greet and Meet” in Colleyville sent to many local residents.
The Complaint reads, in part, “Texas State Representative Giovanni Capriglione used publicly funded envelopes from his state office in Austin for campaign purposes. He enclosed an invitation for a campaign, “Meet and Greet,” in those envelopes and hand delivered them to constituents. The intention of the event is clearly for campaigning. The invitation contgains the campaign website, a campaign staffer’s email address and the legal disclaimer for political advertising. The violation occurred in January of 2018. The eved itself took place of January 25, 2018 “
