Free job fairs in Grapevine, Arlington and Fort Worth to connect job seekers with exciting job opportunities available in local hotel industry
In Texas, there are 1.1 million travel industry jobs – one out of every ten jobs across the state. The hotel industry is responsible for many of those travel industry jobs. Now is a perfect time to find a job in this exciting, ever-changing, ever-growing career field. The Hotel Association of Tarrant County (HATC) is hosting a series of one-of-a-kind hospitality industry job fairs where job seekers can visit with hotel partners from across Tarrant County.
Admission to the job fairs is free. They will be held April 27, 28, and 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at these locations:
Thursday, April 27: Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 S. Main St., Grapevine, TX 76051
Friday, April 28: Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way, Arlington, TX 76011
Saturday, April 29: Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, 249 Thornhill Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76115
There are more than 400 hotels across Tarrant County, ranging from full-service resorts to select-service properties, representing most of the global hotel brands. Many of the hotel members of the HATC will be seeking employees at the three job fairs. Hotels will be recruiting for full-time positions, part-time positions, and internships. Potential job openings at these hotels may include front desk staff, room service attendants, housekeepers, restaurant staff, banquets/catering staff, accountants, sales managers, administrative staff, guest service staff, chefs/kitchen staff, maintenance workers, security guards, and others.
“The travel and tourism industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the nation. Working in the hotel industry can be very rewarding. You can find a short, part-time job, or you can find a career path with many advancement opportunities,” said Julie Faver-Dylla, executive director of the HATC. “Our members are thrilled to have these opportunities to meet with those looking for a job or a career in our industry. You can find a great job, meet great people along the way, and get great travel benefits. Why wouldn’t you want to work in the hotel industry?”
The HATC has hosted job fairs in the past but this is the first the year the association has held them over several days in various locations. “We did this to make it more convenient for job seekers so they would not have to travel too far from home,” said Faver-Dylla.
