Today while working at the early voting location in Colleyville, I had such a wonderful time. I met several first time voters and had the privilege of explaining the proposed charter amendments many times. People overwhelmingly agree these measures are valuable and needed. I also had an interesting encounter with the sweetest couple I have met lately. The gentleman approached me and said, “I have a question for you. Do you know Mark Henderson?” to which I replied, “I don’t know him, but I know of him”. He proceeded to tell hem how he gets email from him and doesn’t know how he got on the email list. He stated he is “offended by the negative nature of the email” and suggested he might block those emails. I apologized to him and told him I am sorry for the tone of those emails. I feel bad that I have to apologized for the behavior of another Colleyville citizen that I don’t even know, because of some bitter and angry position he has taken in response to our wonderful City Council who is working hard every day for the good of the community! Please know how hurtful it is to realize the division within our community that has resulted from a very small handful of bitter and angry residents who cannot accept the fact that Colleyville belongs to the people and not to the elected officials! We should all pray for unity within our community!
