American Airlines recently honored more than 200 employees celebrating at least 45 years of service and 35 or more years for pilots due to the mandatory retirement age. These special employees’ tenure with the airline combine to total nearly 10,000 years of experience. Among them, were the following local residents:
- Jane Williams-Ryder of Arlington, celebrating 45 years as a Dispatch Clerk with American Airlines
- Ronald Cole of Euless, celebrating 50 years as a Fleet Service Clerk with American Airlines
- Sara Brandt of Dallas, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Kyle Thorn of Richardson, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Lucinda Dusek of Dallas, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Barbara Pukis of Grapevine, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Clara Walker of Melissa, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Sharon Holy of Bedford, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Judith Siros of Granbury, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Robyn Stewart of Colleyville, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Bonnie Kiefel of Lake Dallas, celebrating 45 years as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot Jim Pope of Euless, celebrating 37 years as a Flight Engineer / Flight Officer with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot Michael S. Caraway of Decatur, celebrating 38 years with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot Glenn D. Maynard, celebrating 39 years with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot David J. Stonehouse, celebrating 36 years with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot Edwin O. Long of Haslet, celebrating 38 years with American Airlines
- Retiring pilot Michael Young of Southlake, celebrating 38 years with American Airlines
- Sylvia Howse of Arlington, celebrating 45 years as a Senior Planner with American Airlines
“We feel great about American’s future because of the work that you have done over the years” said American’s CEO Doug Parker, during remarks at the evening event. “We will continue to honor each of you, by being good stewards of what you have built.”
This year’s honorees began their careers with 11 different heritage carriers including Air Cal, Allegheny, American, Lake Central, Eastern, Mohawk, Ozark, Piedmont, PSA, TWA and USAir.
