After falling last week and hitting his head, the defense attorney has blood on his brain and was confined to the hospital for four nights. A meeting of the D.A. and defense attorney representative was held this morning with Judge Westfall. Merrick’s attorney has now been removed from the cases.
As such, Merrick will need to find a new attorney and a delay in trial will now be necessary to get the new attorney up to speed. The estimate is December as a new Trial Date.
