Grapevine, Texas September 15, 2016
The following is the last update by Grapevine Police on the Homicide investigation centered around Acorn Woods Park.
At approximately 6:30 am on Wednesday, September 14, Grapevine Police officers were dispatched to Acorn Woods Park at 1000 Oak Grove Loop South. Police were alerted to a body that was located in a wooded area. It was soon discovered that the body had been dismembered and burned to some degree.
Grapevine Detectives are investigating this death as a homicide. The FBI and Texas Rangers are providing additional resources to assist in the investigation.
The cause of death and identity of the body are still under investigation. Due to the nature of the investigation, we are unable to release further details at this time.
Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians cleared the scene at 6:30 PM this evening. Acorn Woods Park is reopen to the public.
