FOR MAYOR – RICHARD NEWTON
Candidate: Richard Newton Position Seeking: Colleyville Mayor
Colleyville is a unique and wonderful place to live. Most people including myself are attracted to Colleyville because of its open and rural feel that is a result of low-density high quality residential developments. Colleyville is also blessed with highly talented and intelligent citizens.
Within the last two years the lack of transparency and lack of citizen respect by elected officials have led many citizens to mistrust city government. This mistrust was manifested in the recent approval of a new Comprehensive Master Plan over the objection of many citizens. Over the last eleven years the Mayor has approved 23 subdivisions that violate the density required by Colleyville’s Master Plan and zoning ordinances and 9 subdivisions that were from a lower density to a higher density.
Over those ten years he approved only one PUD-R development that met the density requirement of the Master Plan. During the incumbent’s tenure he has consistently voted to violate the “gold standard” density maximum defined in multiple Colleyville Comprehensive Master Plans. This in and of itself destroys trust with citizens and damages Colleyville’s open and country character.
Mistrust also resulted from how incumbent elected officials handled the Glade Road redevelopment plan last year. The current plan exceeds needs by over $5 million dollars. My position is to improve Glade Road, but financially responsibly. In addition the city plans to assume the ownership of Highway 26 when it is finished requiring that the city be permanently financially responsible for all maintenance. I oppose this as wasteful.
I believe these leadership issues are due to a mayoral incumbent who has been in office too long – 11 years. I support term limits and will work to establish a Charter Review Commission to propose this change. I will restore open and transparent city government. I will work hard to restore citizen trust in city government by listening to and respecting all citizens.

FOR MAYOR – DAVID KELLY
Mr. Kelly received the same email as all the candidates, as well as a reminder email on April 5, 2016 that his information had not been received. In addition, on April 5, LNO called Mayor Kelly on his Cell Phone and left a message. However, as of April 7, Mr. Kelly has declined to accept LNO’s offer. Therefore this space is blank.
FOR COLLEYVILLE CITY COUNCIL PLACE 1 Candidate: Tammy Nakamura, Position Seeking: Colleyville City Council Place 1 https://www.facebook.com/TammyforColleyville/
My husband, Yuki and I chose Colleyville as the place to raise our two children over 15 years ago. In that time, I has been deeply involved in the community, from my children’s schools to the Chamber of Commerce.
I started volunteering as a teenager and simply expanded My horizons into adulthood, while raising a family and building a thriving business. I have supported the American Cancer Society (board member), American Heart Association (board member and fundraising chair), Colleyville Woman’s Club (activist and fundraiser Chair), The Arts League and Arts Council Northeast (fundraising chair), GRACE Gala (activist Chairman and Advisory Board), Colleyville Chamber Citizen of the Year (’12), PTA’s at Crosstimbers, Glenhope, and GHS, Football and Cheerleader Booster Club (President), and countless other positions.
With over 36 years of volunteerism, I believe you must give and step up to help others. Shonda Schaefer (GRACE) said it best: “Tammy is high-energy and her enthusiasm is infectious! She inspires others and attracts legions of volunteers to her various causes where she uses her professional background in public relations, marketing and advertising to create successful projects. Not only does she provide countless volunteer hours, she also ensures the financial viability of the numerous fundraising projects she chairs through personal sponsorships and sponsorships of numerous friends in the business community. Tammy Nakamura is quite simply “a dream volunteer.”
I have owned businesses for 29 years. Owned and operated Chammeyville Junction Car Washes for 15 years and currently own Accent on You Cosmetic Surgery Center and Medi Spa with my husband Yuki Nakamura, M.D. I am currently President of Natico Management Company.
I now have my sights set on keeping Colleyville the same destination city which brought us here 15 years ago. I would like to bring City Hall’s focus back to what made Colleyville great – the citizens and our great community. I look forward to earning your vote this May 7th.
Candidate: Carol Wollin, Position Seeking: Colleyville City Council Place 1 Colleyville has been my home for 25 years and as your council member, I’m entrusted with a great responsibility to ensure that Colleyville remains a premier city in which to live, work and play. Email: CarolWollinForColleyville@gmail.com
It has been my honor to serve the citizens of Colleyville and with your vote on May 7th, I look forward to continuing to dedicate my time to Colleyville residents and promoting our great city. As your council member, my first priority is to keep our city safe by making sure our first responders have the tools they need to do their job.
Colleyville, once again, has been named the safest city in Texas and I am proud to be a part of this accomplishment. Another important key to our long term success is to maintain a low tax rate for our citizens by building upon our economic development successes, while protecting our neighborhoods from high-density developments. One of the greatest challenges we face today is the need for infrastructure investment.
Projects, such as Glade Road, must adhere to their respective Capital Improvement Plan so that every dollar is maximized. As a fiscal conservative, I believe we must budget responsibly so that we preserve our financial stability, maintain Colleyville’s AAA credit ratings, and decrease city debt.
Local government affects our community which is why citizen engagement is something I have always been passionate about and something I will continue to promote if re-elected on May 7th.
FOR COLLEYVILLE CITY COUNCIL PLACE 2
Candidate: Chuck Mogged, Position Seeking: Colleyville City Council Place 2
Colleyville has reached several exciting milestones during my first term: ranked “Safest City in Texas-2016”; approving the Colleyville Blvd Reconstruction Project; voter approval to fix Glade Road; the new Water and Wastewater Master Plan; the new Destination Colleyville Comprehensive Plan protecting our low-density vision; and significant business start-ups and expansions with new restaurants, stores, professional offices, and our first hotel.
My conservative fiscal policy means we protect our hard-earned AAA bond ratings, and maintain our low property tax rates. We need to keep employee pensions fully funded. Our strong finances allow us to “pay-as-we go” for new projects, and work towards eliminating all remaining debt of our City. Our biggest challenge ahead is renewing our infrastructure – with minimum disruption and within budget. The biggest road project in Colleyville’s history is the Highway 26 Reconstruction Project, which will change Colleyville Blvd to a six-lane road with state-mandated center medians for safety.
Additionally, the voters last year approved moving ahead to fix Glade Road’s congestion, safety concerns, and deteriorating surfaces. Lastly, our water and wastewater system has segments nearing the end of their 50-year lifespan, and plans are in place to replace these before they break, funding on a “pay-as-we-go” basis. Citizen input, involvement and support will continue as an important part of our City’s success in renewing our infrastructure.
As a Mechanical Engineer from MIT, with an MBA in Finance & Operations from the University of Chicago, I believe I can contribute to our Council’s deliberations. And my executive experience at more than one Fortune 500 company – and my City Council service the last 3 years – give me the experience to help us sort through future project and organization challenges. I ask for your vote to continue building our great community.

Candidate: Bobby Lindamood, Position Seeking: Colleyville City Council Place 2 I’m a true Texas raised with old school “Honesty” ~ “Integrity” ~ Where your name means something, and a hand shake is your bond. I was raised in Irving, and have now settled in the great unique town of Colleyville. It is a great place for me and my wife who I have been married to for 22 years. We also have 2 beautiful daughters who attend O.C.Taylor and CHHS. I’m a true small business owner of JR’s Demolition that has been in business for over 11 years and is ranked one of the top demolition business in DFW. I know what it is to be fiscally responsible with our city checkbook, make wise decisions, and trim excess as needed. I attend Arlington Baptist College, served on many boards, hold leadership in Texas Sports Reach prison ministry, and attend Compass Church.
Colleyville is at a crossroads regarding several big issues for our city. They include our current move towards high density, our disproportionally high water bills, the rush towards TexRail, and a general culture at town hall which ignores the citizens voices that need to be heard.
I am running to bring a leadership style that brings the voice of the citizens back to city hall. I believe that the office of councilor, and the City itself, can and should be used to intervene to the benefit of the citizens on issues like our water rates, TexRail, and High Density.
Council has created an environment where citizen’s input, involvement, and voices are not being heard nor respected. I’m running to give people back their voice, their Colleyville. With so many talents throughout the community our government has overlooked the specialized people of Colleyville.
It’s time we work as a “Team” – City Hall and residents “together”. Let’s keep Colleyville “Unique!” ~ I will work hard to keep it that way. Your Voice! ~ Your Colleyville! Bobby Lindamood
