Show to Feature Works by Three Well-Known Photographers
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS Beginning April 2 through May 29, the Grapevine Tower Gallery, 636 S. Main St., will host the “Triple Exposure” Photography Exhibit and Sale. This visual photographic feast features the works of three immensely talented photographers, Bruce Rosenstiel, Ray Maines and Lorraine Hann-Stewart. Works are available for purchase.
“Triple Exposure” brings together the paths of these three uniquely different photographers, one with a view of the world at large, another featuring commercial crisp images and the third with condensed abstract visions and all leading to a richly rewarding triple visual experience at Grapevine’s Tower Gallery.
Bruce Rosenstiel travels the world at large creating his small world of masterful photographic images. The fascinating cultural portraits that Bruce brings from his travels across the world seek to make the foreign accessible while diffusing barriers of difference. He creates a visual language of images that focus on themes of universal human experience: work, play, worship, sorrow and joy. Through his photography, Bruce is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural understanding by highlighting the bonds and behaviors between species and across communities. Bruce Rosenstiel’s photographic works also encompass all manner of flora and fauna to reveal the extraordinary – often unseen – diversity and beauty of nature.
Ray Maines spent his professional career as a commercial photographer working at large commercial studios after graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he received a BFA degree in Illustrative Photography. He also holds a Master of Photographydegree from the Professional Photographers of America. It was only after he and his wife retired that he began experimenting with fine art photography. Mainly working in landscapes, Maines’ style trends towards simplification of forms condensed into abstract compositions. His background in commercial techniques lends to his fine photographic art from sweeping vistas to shadows of gray and black from the Medici Ceiling in Italy.
Lorraine Hann-Stewart works in the commercial photography field, composing artistic settings for her clients from food to events to fine art. Hann-Stewart’s style is very discerning, creative and artistic, whether she is capturing wisps of smoke or delicate petals within a rose. She is a British photographer with more than 20 years of photographic experience. Her versatility and creative approach to capturing her subjects has earned her recognition within the professional photography community and she holds Licentiate distinction awarded to her by the fellows of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.
An opening reception will be held on April 2 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. The exhibit is free and will be open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. The Tower Gallery is located in the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau Headquarters at 636 S.
