Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Season Begins February 13
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (January 28, 2016) – Hop aboard and ride the rails on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad (GVRR) during opening weekend for the 2016 season. To celebrate opening weekend, the GVRR will host the “Share the Love Train.” On February 13, $3 of every ticket sold aboard the GVRR’s 1 p.m. Fort Worth Stockyards excursion will be donated to charity. Tickets for the “Share the Love Train” are $26 per person for first-class seating and $18 per person for touring-class seating.
Riders may choose to donate to one or all of the pre-selected charities at ticket pickup at the Cotton Belt Depot, 705 S. Main St., on the day of the excursion. The pre-selected charities are:
- GRACE – Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange (GRACE) is a Grapevine, Texas based nonprofit relief agency which provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital necessities to people who are struggling with a limited income or recent emergency. The philosophy of GRACE is that encouraging self-sufficiency will, in turn, encourage community cohesiveness. Compassion and assistance are offered as a response to God’s grace by local churches in partnership with municipalities, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals.
- Grapevine Animal Shelter – Grapevine Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is a division of the City of Grapevine. The Grapevine Animal Shelter is dedicated to the humane treatment of animals in Grapevine and educating others about responsible pet ownership. The Grapevine Animal Shelter serves the human and animal residents of Grapevine, Texas.
- A Wounded Veteran Organization – The purpose of the organization is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
The GVRR’s Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards excursions depart from the Historic Cotton Belt Depot at 1 p.m. and return to Grapevine at approximately 5:45 p.m. Additional weekly excursions include the Stockyards Trinity River Ride and the Grapevine Fun Train. Throughout the year, the GVRR also offers special annual events such as the Jazz Wine Trains, Day Out With Thomas™, North Pole Express® and more.

DAVID TAPLEY AND THE “CAVALCADE OF STARS” TO PERFORM BENEFIT CONCERT FEBRUARY 13 AT GRAPEVINE’S HISTORIC PALACE THEATRE
Legendary Impersonation Group Rallies to Support Lead Singer
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (January 28, 2016) – Join David Tapley and the “Cavalcade of Stars” at Grapevine’s Historic Palace Theatre, 300 S. Main St., for a night of music and comedy for a cause on Saturday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m.. The benefit concert was organized by friends of David “Elvis” Tapley, who is currently battling melanoma.
Backed by a live band and singers, David Tapley and the “Cavalcade of Stars” have made headlines for over 13 years, winning numerous awards and performing across the world. The benefit concert will pay tribute to some of the biggest stars to grace the stage, including Elvis, Roy Orbison, Reba McEntire and Groucho Marx. Audience participation will be encouraged, and attendees are welcome to dance and sing or sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
