Update at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 1:
Crews were able to clear the water from the TRA water main at midday and began excavating shortly before 2 p.m. They hope to locate the break in the line in the next few hours; repair and restoration of the line is anticipated by Saturday morning.
At this time, the city is asking that all Colleyville citizens, businesses, and HOAs refrain from any outdoor water use. Compliance is voluntary at this point. Colleyville’s water storage levels are stable for now, but with a long delay anticipated before the water line can be fixed, voluntary compliance with the no outdoor watering request is necessary to ensure the availability of water for normal household uses.
Cheek-Sparger Road will be closed to thru traffic until the line is repaired. Drivers traveling westbound on Cheek-Sparger Road will be diverted to Bedford Road. Those traveling eastbound on Cheek-Sparger Road will be diverted to Brown Trail. Drivers can avoid the area by taking Jackson Road or Brown Trail south to Harwood Road.
