The @gms YOU Matter campaign launched with the start of the 2015-2016 school year. Students attended class-level assemblies to discuss social media and the impact it plays on a student’s self image and sources of affirmation. The charge for students this year is to provide genuine affirmation to peers and teachers. They wear wristbands as reminders and are encouraged to share @gms YOU Matter notes with each other, which complements the school’s Thank You Thursday announcements.
Grapevine Middle School kicked off a new campaign this year to teach and remind each student that @gms YOU Matter! Students and staff will come together for a special assembly with guest speaker Tory Grant who will encourage students to say “yes” to doing the right thing. The @gms YOU Matter campaign challenges students to take initiative and responsibility in helping make their school a positive and uplifting environment. Students wear an @gms YOU Matter wristband and write notes to each other, offering more genuine opportunities to give and receive affirmation.
The Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2015, 1 – 1:45 p.m.at the Grapevine Middle School (Gym), 301 Pony Parkway. Grapevine, TX 76051.
Students will be wearing @gm You Matter wristbands throughout the school.
