CHHS PTSA and Grapevine PTSA recognize the importance of SAT Scores as it pertains to college acceptance and scholarship funding. In an effort to support the future success of their students, they have made the decision to offer students a unique program designed to quickly increase student test scores. They are partnering up with Test Prep Seminars, a national leader in college readiness and test preparation that has successfully prepared over 350,000 students for the SAT and ACT Exams. What makes this Boot Camp different is instead of scaling rope walls and crawling through mud pits, the students will complete test drills identifying strengths and areas for improvement specific to the SAT exam. They will then be given specific testing strategies, time management tips and critical content, all geared towards improving their performance on the test. Chrissie Tatum, CHHS PTSA Ways and Means Chairman stated “CHHS PTSA is excited to partner with GHS PTSA to offer an SAT Prep course to students at both high schools. We are looking forward to an opportunity to work together for the common goal of doing our BEST to help our high school students as we strive to Build Excellent Schools Together.” The Boot Camp is 6 hours long, and includes a strategy book and work book with 27 quizzes. Each student leaves with a personal plan of action. This is a $350 program that is being offered by the PTSA for $99 (Late registration fee is $129). The Boot Camp will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Compass Center, (on Hall Johnson). Students are asked to bring a sack lunch, pencils, pens, highlighters, and a calculator.
