At the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 2, council members gave staff approval to move forward with the design of the first phase of the Glade Road Project. This phase was agreed upon last fall and encompasses the roadway between Bransford Road and Manning Drive, about one-fourth of the corridor. It includes construction of roundabouts at both Bransford Road and Riverwalk Drive, realignment of Bedford Road, addressing the sight distance issues at Bluebonnet Drive, and drainage improvements in that section.
Additional information on this initial phase will be available as the design process progresses. Construction of the first phase should begin next summer, after the end of the school year to lessen the impact to school traffic.
The City Council will discuss work on future phases of the project at worksession on Tuesday, July 28.
