An Editorial by Nelson Thibodeaux
After the revelation of the smut attack on Colleyville City Council Candidate Bobby Lindamood that was delivered in an envelope without name or return address; will the prognosis of one of the suspect actors come true. On a local blog Colleyville resident and long time Democratic activist Jim Fletcher announced he “suspected” that Bud Kennedy would weigh in again in the Colleyville City Council election with a column backing his picks.
I can only say if the dreaded “I’m smarter than you,” Kennedy column actually does surface, it will re-enforce a couple of propositions; a.) Mike Taylor really does have the Star Telegram’s ear as he was quoted as saying and b.) the Star Telegram should limit Kennedy to writing about hamburger joints, c.) the big boy newspaper is not only bias but gullible.
When Mayor David Kelly was ask his opinion concerning the mailer, he said “I don’t give any credence to an unsigned mailer.” One would hope the Star Telegram would adopt a similar policy.
Finally, Candidate Nancy Coplen has failed to respond to LNO’s request for a statement on the lewd attack mailer. Despite her previous service on the School Board, Coplen has coupled her campaign with the “NOers” and more incredible to the Mike Taylor effort.
Apparently, the concept of keeping the status quo on the Colleyville Council is stronger than the hazardous detail of carry the water for Mike Taylor.
