ROAD CONSTRUCTION & INFRASTRUCTURE
TxDOT SH 26 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Please send any questions, concerns, or comments to 26@colleyville.com.
Plans call for closure of the southbound right lane from Brumlow Avenue/Pool Road to Longwood Drive every day through the month of May from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to complete construction of retaining walls. Today’s closure of that lane for wall construction will continue until 5:00 p.m.
No other lane closures are scheduled at this time. In the event an unanticipated lane closure happens, TxDOT’s midday closures typically range from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and night closures from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Drivers should always use caution while driving through the work zone.
SH 26 UTILITY RELOCATION PROJECT
(City of Colleyville/utility franchises)
Please send any questions, concerns, or comments to 26@colleyville.com.
Lane closures may be in effect this week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the east side of SH 26, from Old Glade Road to Professional Court while Atmos installs new gas lines. AT&T will be working in the same area installing a new duct bank. All affected businesses have been notified.
Lane closures are expected from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the west side of SH 26, from Village Lane south to Glade Road, so the contractor can place a new sanitary sewer line. All affected businesses have been notified.
Installation of the new water line from Church Street to Main Street has been completed. The contractor continues to work on driveway and road repairs from Church Street, southbound on both sides of SH 26. Businesses will be notified prior to the start of any work and access will be provided at all times.
Time Warner continues to bore cable and move overhead lines on both sides of SH 26 at various locations. All businesses affected by these activities have been notified.
CHEEK-SPARGER/JACKSON ROAD ROUNDABOUT
The landscaping contractor continues installation of the wall in the roundabout and should begin the rock work by week’s end. The contractor also will be placing a retaining wall on the northeast corner of the bridge. You can also expect to see sidewalk being placed.
The roundabout is now in its final alignment although there is still some construction around the travel lanes. For safety reasons, temporary stop signs will remain in place to slow traffic. The contractor still has a few items to place along the corridor, but must work around AT&T’s relocation of some of its lines. To keep the crews safe, brief lane closures may occur as necessary to finish the remaining work.
PONDEROSA LANE/KINGSTON ADDITION IMPROVEMENTS
Ponderosa Street will be reduced to one lane from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. this week while the contractor places concrete driveways and new curb and gutter. The contractor will also be performing backfill on Kingston and McCain Lane. The road will remain open to traffic and the work will not disrupt trash/recycle collection.
PLEASANT RUN ROAD PROJECT
Pleasant Run Road is closed from Mission Lane to Church Street and from Bogart Drive to Church Street. For now, Church Street and Colleyville Terrace will remain open to thru traffic.
Entry and exit for residents, mail delivery, trash collection, school buses, and emergency vehicles in the area will be from Church Street. All others should plan to use alternate routes: SH 26 to Hall-Johnson Road then to Bogart Drive or SH 26 to Church Street, then west to Bransford Road or SH 26.
Drainage and water improvements are now complete. This coming week the contractors will start placing concrete drainage structures throughout the corridor.
WATER FACILITY RENEWAL
Area 1
The contractor will be placing water at Wagonwheel Court and testing the line on Windswept Trail. Residents have been notified and the road will remain open to traffic. The work will not disrupt emergency vehicle, bus, or trash/recycle collection.
Area 2
The contractor will be testing the new water line on Lowrie Road, Reagan Road, and Styles Lane. It is possible that the contractor may be swapping the new service lines to the new water line; however, any disruption to water service will be minimal and residents will be notified before any disruption. Residents have been notified and the road will remain open to traffic. The work will not disrupt emergency vehicle, bus, or trash/recycle collection. |
