Shortly before Mr. Taylor lost another election for City Council on May 7, 2005, at a gathering of his supporters, Taylor was quoted as having said “I have the ear of the Star-Telegram and he would use it to clean up matters at city hall.”Well Taylor, 13 days after his loss, at least he had the ear of the then Colleyville Courier and as served as “inside” information source for cub reporter Scott Price. Looking for something to write about, Price was only too glad to take Taylor’s passed along inside “misinformation.” Apparently Taylor was lashing out to blame somone for his third consecutive loss in an election and his quest to be a Colleyville legend. |

The accusation from whom you may ask? Well, Mr. Taylor of course. Now, Mr. Taylor, at the time was serving on the “Celebrate Colleyville” Committee. The city function first recommended by myself while on City Council and the Volunteer Chair for 6 years, my wife. The story starts the previous December, when Taylor is asked to get local auto dealerships to bring out cars to display. Taylor announces to the volunteer community that he would not be able to get any takers because the event was not big or important enough. |
However, such as it was, the car show was organized for Celebrate Colleyville at absolutely no cost to the taxpayers; not even the cost of trophies (or t-shirts) to help attract participants. Only participants that WANTED to be judged and considered for an awards plaque paid the $15 registration fee.To read more on this ridiculous breaking news article about the “Great T-Shirt Caper,” when the now disillusioned third time loser of an election, Mike Taylor accused Thibodeaux of “mishandling” the T-Shirt sales that had to do with the CAR SHOW at Celebrate Colleyville. The Cristy Fritts’ organization and LocalNewsOnly.com where the sponsors that paid for all the promotion of the Car Show to enhance the event, apparently escaped the individual reported back to the Committee, “However, Taylor reported back to the committee that he couldn’t offer sponsorships to auto dealers because, “I don’t see any real value that they will receive.”Further, the only money that exchanged hands with this Editor and the T-Shirts happened when I bought and paid for two T-Shirts. |
Well not nearly as exciting and damning as the Great T-Shirt Caper was; there was previous to this date Mr. Taylor and his misfortune; when not the local Courier or even this news site, but the Star Telegram carried the headlines, “Raid at NRH massage business nets 1 arrest. The news article explained that neighbors became suspicious when only one car at a time would stop by and stay for about an hour. Working on a tip, an undercover North Richland Hills Police officer visited the location. Shortly thereafter the police raided the location arrested one woman and charging her with prostitution. The police said the people at the business “reapplied” for a license to open. Not drawing any conclusions here, however the property in question was owned then and is still appears to be owned by our current Place 6 City Councilman, running for yet another term on Colleyville City Council.. |
