Nelson,
I have got to vent! Boy you cross the “powers that be” and watch out! I hate that Bobby Lindamood and Liz Zeitlin are being crucified for taking up for the “little guys”.
When all of this highway 26 and Glade Rd issue came about we started listening to exactly who was making all these decisions. It was Chris Putman, Bobby Lindamood and Elizabeth Zeitlin who actually let us all know that it was the City Government making all these decisions. We, me an Neil really were concerned when Mike Taylor came up to Neil before a city council meeting and said “wow this Glade Rd redo is going to take a lot of your driveway” “Let me see what I can do” Wink wink…sorry I threw that in but that’s how we felt…”vote for me and I’ll take care of you”.
Yes, we own property on Colleyville Blvd. and obviously the 6 lane made a lot more since than a 4 lane with a huge “beautification” median. Businesses and citizens did not a one time fix and then tear it up and start over 4 to 6 years from now. It was obvious the citizens agreed with Councilman Putnam’s drive for reason in this matter.
We own our home of 36 years on Glade Rd. and we acknowledge the traffic, every single day! When we were made aware of the petition we made sure that yes the intersections would still be done (the roundabouts, shaved down at Bluebonnet and Glade) and the road redone with turning lanes but we did not see the necessity of a 10′ trail on the north side of the street. We would have settled for a 5′ but the city government would not budge.
So now here we are. Bobby Lindamood is a good guy, he is not in this for anyone but Colleyville, not special interest groups, not himself, just Colleyville because he really cares.
No matter how you vote Colleyville, For or Against, its not all about Glade Rd. Its about all of Colleyville and we need a Bobby Lindamood and Liz Zeitlin to represent all of us.
Sincerely,
Sherrie Hart
